POEMS FOR THE LOSS OF A SPOUSE - Page 2

Now Gone

I don’t always find living my life so easy,
With our time of being together now gone.
Although it is so hard with you not here,
I do know, that my life must continue on.

I miss all of the things we always shared,
and so many things we had not yet done.
Everything that was special with only you,
which can not be replaced; not by anyone.

I know I have to continue on with my life,
until time comes for me to again join you.
If I were able to hear you speaking to me,
I’m sure, you’d be saying these words too.

Although my sad heart still aches for you,
and my life isn’t the same as it was before.
Life is far too precious not to be fully lived,
and I’m blessed, to still have time for more.

Memories of you will forever be my strength,
and they will live, with you inside of my heart.
I will remember everything you mean to me,
instead of living the sadness of being apart.

So I will always carry your love in my heart,
living my life the best way that I know how.
Remembering this is what you’d want of me,
and I must therefore start to live again, now.

I’m Still Here

Please don’t mourn for me
I’m still here, though you don’t see.
I’m right by your side each night and day
And within your heart I long to stay.
My body is gone but I’m always near
I’m everything you feel, see, or hear.
My spirit is free, but I’ll never depart
As long as you keep me alive in your heart.
I’ll never wander out of your sight
I’m the brightest star on a warm summer night.
I’ll never be beyond your reach
I’m the warm moist sand when you’re at the beach.
I’m the colorful leaves when winter comes round
And the pure white snow that blankets the ground.
I’m the beautiful flowers of which you’re so fond
The clear cool water in a quiet pond.
I’m the first bright blossom you’ll see in the spring
The first warm raindrop that April will bring.
I’m the first ray of light when the sun starts to shine
And you’ll see that the face in the moon is mine.
When you start thinking there’s no one to love you
Talk to me and I will listen.
I’ll whisper my answer through the leaves on the trees
And you’ll feel my presence in the soft summer breeze.
I’m the hot salty tears that flow when you weep
And the beautiful dreams that come while you sleep.
I’m the smile you see on a stranger’s face.
Just look for me…I’m everyplace.

From your Angel in Heaven

I see tears fall down your face
When your thoughts have turned to me.
Just know that I’m in heaven,
With my Lord, who’s set me free.
No pain or sadness do I feel,
For God is by my side.
The beauty here in Heaven
Is now where I reside.
I know it’s hard for you to cope
For you can’t feel my touch.
But every moment, I can see
And love you very much.
When you are at your lowest
And feel you can’t go on,
Look towards the heavens
The light will be turned on.
Talk to me, just like you did
On Earth when I was there.
You see, I’m not so far away
Only as far as a prayer.
And when it’s time for you to join
me up in Heaven above.
It’s then that you will realize,
The Golden Place of love.
For here there is no sadness,
Just everlasting light.
Someday we will be joined again,
When it’s time to take your flight.

I Only Wanted You

They say memories are golden
well maybe that is true.
I never wanted memories,
I only wanted you.

A million times I needed you,
a million times I’ve cried.
If love alone could have saved you,
you never would have died.

In life I loved you dearly,
In death I love you still.
In my heart you hold a place
no one can ever fill.

If tears could build a stairway
and heartache make a lane,
I’d walk the path to heaven,
to bring you back again.

Our time on Earth has ended,
and nothing seems the same.
But when God calls me to be with you,
Our love will live again.

You Never Said Goodbye

You never said I’m leaving
You never said goodbye
You were gone before I knew it,
And only God knew why.
A million times I needed you,
A million times I cried
If love alone could have saved you,
You never would have died
In life I loved you dearly
In death I love you still
In my heart you hold a place,
That no one will ever fill
It broke my heart to lose you,
But you didn’t go alone
For part of me went with you,
The day God took you home.

Cry Not For Me

Cry not for me,
I have no pain in leaving.
Do not visit my grave,
For I no longer exist there.
I am in the air that you breathe,
I am in the sun that warms you,
I am in the rain that fills your springs,
I am in the heaven that you dream of,
We are forever,
You and I.
Find your way,
I shall always step with you.
Speak to me often,
I shall always hear you.
Give me your love,
I shall always feel you.
Know in your heart
I will be with you every day.
But, until we meet again,
Be Happy!

‘I Am In Your Heart’

It is time now, for me to rest.
I know, we have been together
for so very long.
Please remember this my dear,
Together we walked side by side
for many years.
Now my Dear love,
you must be strong.

I really did not want
to leave you,
So many choices
are out of our hands.
I know you will weep,
most loved ones do.
Draw strength from our family
Together firmly stand.
Yes, my sweetheart,
Don’t let too many days go by
with pain and heart ache.
These will ease up as you cry
I live on, inside your heart.
Do not remember me
with despair.
Remember the years
of joy and love.
Remember the laughter
and all we shared.

I am now in Our Lords heart,
He remembers me
And one day,
true peace of God,
will be all around
Together again, we shall be.

‘Rest In Peace’

You are not forgotten my love
Nor will you ever be.
As long as life and memory last,
Your soul will live in me.

I’ll miss you now
My heart is sore.
As time goes by
I’ll miss you more.

Your loving smile,
Your gentle face,
No one can fill your vacant place.

Soul Journey

Beautiful are memories of a moonlit night with you,
The spark of love we lit and all the world felt new.
My heart told me I’d known you, in times so long ago,
Something deep inside me had set my soul aglow.
Soul-mates re-united, bound by the ties of past,
Through each and every age this perfect love will last.
So at our journey’s end and the time has come to part,
An endless cord of love will link us heart to heart.
